Jaya House River Park in Siem Reap // Refill Not Landfill & Ten Thousand Trees
Vor einigen Wochen war ich in Kambodscha und habe Land und Leute erkundet. Meine Erlebnisse und Route findet ihr in diesem Blogbeitrag: Mein Traumurlaub in Kambodscha // Tempel, Geschichte & Strand. Die letzten beiden Tage meiner Reise habe ich wieder in Siem Reap verbracht (wo meine Reise auch begann) und habe dort ein großartiges Hotel kennengelernt: Das Jaya House River Park.
A few weeks ago I was in Cambodia and explored the country and the people. My experiences and trip can be found in this blog post here. The last two days of my vacation I spent again in Siem Reap (where my journey also began) and got to know a great hotel: Jaya House River Park.

Das Jaya House River Park ist nicht nur bei Tripadvisor top bewertet, sondern hat auch auch mich absolut begeistert. Schon am Flughafen wurde ich herzlich mit frischem Obst und kühlem Wasser empfangen. Und genauso ging es weiter. Das Personal war während meines ganzen Aufenthalts sehr aufmerksam und super freundlich.
The Jaya House River Park is not only top rated by Tripadvisor, but also absolutely thrilled me. Already at the airport I was warmly welcomed with fresh fruit and cool water. The staff was very attentive and super friendly during my whole stay.
Ein besonderes Gadget war ein Handy vom Hotel, das ich für den Abholservice aus der Stadt bekommen hatte. Ein weiteres Highlight war definitiv der Pool aus Silber. Getreu dem Motto: “Im Luxus baden”.
A special gadget was a mobile phone from the hotel that I got for the pickup service from the city. One highlight was definitely the silver pool. True to the motto: "Bathe in luxury".
Mich hat das das Jaya House River Park absolut überzeugt und ich kann es sehr empfehlen. Hier geht es zur Homepage.

Refill Not Landfill
Eins der Projekte des Jaya House River Park ist die Kampagne Refill Not Landfill. Dieses Projekt hat sich vorgenommen, den Verbrauch von Plastikflaschen deutlich zu reduzieren. Denn Plastikmüll ist in Kambodscha ein riesiges Problem.
Recycling wie wir es aus Deutschland kennen gibt es dort einfach nicht. Entsprechend viel Müll liegt auf den Straßen und verunreinigt die Umwelt. Plastik ist zu einer echten Plage geworden, die Wildtiere tötet, Meere erstickt und Deponien für die nächsten Jahrhunderte füllt.
Das Jaya House River Park ist eine treibende Kraft hinter der Refill Not Landfill Kampagne und geht mit gutem Beispiel voran. Das Hotel ist zu 95% plastikfrei. Außerdem erhält jeder Gast eine auffüllbare Aluminium Flasche und gleichzeitig eine Karte mit allen Füllstationen. Das ist nicht nur sehr praktisch und ein schönes Souvenir, sondern auch der Beginn einer kleinen Revolution zu einem grüneren, schöneren Land, zum Wohle derer, die leben und noch geboren werden.
One of the projects at Jaya House River Park is the Refill Not Landfill campaign. This project aims to significantly reduce the consumption of plastic bottles. Because plastic waste is a huge problem in Cambodia.
Recycling as we know it from Germany simply does not exist there. As a result, there is a lot of waste on the roads and pollutes the environment. Plastic has become a real nuisance, killing wildlife, choking the seas and filling landfills for centuries to come.
Jaya House River Park is a driving force behind the Refill Not Landfill campaign and sets a good example. The hotel is 95% plastic-free. In addition, each guest receives a refillable aluminium bottle and at the same time a card with all filling stations. This is not only very practical and a nice souvenir, but the beginning of a small revolution to a greener, more beautiful country, for the benefit of those who live and are still born.
Ten Thousand Trees
Ein weiteres Projekt des Jaya House River Park nennt sich Ten Thousand Trees und hat sich zum Ziel gesetzt mehr als 10.000 Moringa-Bäume an Familien, öffentliche Straßen und Plätze in Siem Reap zu spenden. Die Spendengelder wurden bereits erfolgreich eingesammelt, so dass mit der Bepflanzung schon begonnen wurde.
Die sehr schnell wachsenden Bäume sorgen nicht nur für mehr Schatten und weniger Staub, sondern bekämpfen auch die Unterernährung der kambodschanischen Bevölkerung. Wenn jeder kambodschanischer Bürger Zugang zu je einem Moringa-Baum hätte, dann würde die Unterernährung in einem Augenblick ausgelöscht werden.
Another project of Jaya House River Park is called Ten Thousand Trees and aims to donate more than 10,000 Moringa trees to families, public streets and squares in Siem Reap. The donations were successfully collected, so that planting has already begun.
The very fast growing trees not only provide more shade and less dust, but also fight the malnutrition of the Cambodian population. If every Cambodian citizen had access to a Moringa tree, malnutrition would be eradicated in an instant.
Der Moringa-Baum
Der Moringa-Baum stammt ursprünglich aus der Himalaya-Region in Nordwestindien und ist als Wunderbaum bekannt. Fast alle Teile des Baumes sind essbar und sehr nährstoffreich. Diese Pflanze besitzt unzählige gesundheitliche Vorteile und hat die Fähigkeit, mehrere Krankheiten zu heilen. Und so ist es kein Wunder, dass Moringa ist auch als Superfood bekannt ist.
Wer möchte, hat im Jaya House River Park einige Möglichkeiten den Moringa-Baum zu probieren. Die Pflanze wird sowohl für die Zubereitung von Speisen, in Brötchen oder auch als Tee angeboten.
The Moringa Tree
The Moringa tree originates from the Himalayan region in northwest India and is known as a miracle tree. Almost all parts of the tree are edible and very nutritious. This plant has countless health benefits and the ability to cure several diseases. And so it is no wonder that Moringa is also known as Superfood.
If you want, you can try the Moringa tree at Jaya House River Park. The plant is offered both for the preparation of food, in rolls or as tea.

Refill not Landfill ist wirklich eine wichtige Entwicklung. Gerade in Asien fällt mir immer wieder auf wie nachlässig dort mit Plastikmüll umgegangen wird. Da sind solche Aktionen wirklich sehr, sehr wichtig.
Und das scheint ja wirklich ein traumhafter Urlaub gewesen zu sein. Das Hotel sieht toll aus!
Was für ein wundervollen Hotel! ich bin echt ganz angetan! Das gilt übrigens überhaupt für deine ganz Reise nach Kambodscha! Das Land muss einfach so traumhaft sein.
